We made two examples: a robot hugging a wedge, and a sleepy owl in a conductor's cap leaning into a night bus timetable. In both, only half the creature comes in from the right edge.
The creature is drawn in outline only, with no fill, and leans in from the right edge with a real part of it outside the frame. Pure black on white, the unfilled line and the two levels of type hold every time. Now and then the creature comes out bigger than asked and crowds the half meant for the type. If that happens, generate again.

Before it runs
- A creature that reads in outline alone. Anything needing fill, pattern or shading loses its identity the moment the colour is removed.
- A short title. It is set bold and large, and long ones crowd the creature out of its half of the page.
- Comfort with a mostly empty page — the emptiness is the design.
When to reach for it
Title cards, invitations, journal openers, a profile header. It is the cheapest possible design and it still has a personality, because something is looking at you from the edge.
