We made two examples: one word filled with growing things, leaves and seed heads, and one filled with water, waves and foam curls. Same ink family, same heavy skeleton, and in both the ornament stops dead at the letter's edge.

Before it runs
- A short word. Six letters is comfortable, ten is a squeeze, and past that the strokes get too narrow to hold any drawing.
- A motif family you can stay inside. Mixing flora, fauna and waves gives a sampler; one family gives a piece.
- A heavy typeface as the skeleton. Ornament thickens a stroke visually, and a light face disappears under it.
When to reach for it
When a short name has to carry a whole page: a studio mark, a chapter opener, a shop window, a book title. Templates in this style say the ornament must stay inside the strokes and then let leaves and fish drift out past the edges, which quietly turns a letterform into a bush.
